5 Boredom-Busting Winter Wellness Activities

Winter certainly has its perks. There are almost no allergies, bugs die, and calorie-burning can be faster since the body has to use energy to stay hot. Still, the cold climate comes with its own set of challenges, such as being stuck at home due to frigid temperatures and frequent gloomy rain. And if we have to hear the kids say, “I’m bored!” one more time this winter, we might just explode.

But it doesn't need to be an all-day drag when there are many exciting yet relaxing indoor activities you can do. Here are 5 ideas to get your started!

1. Draw A Bath and Make It Artsy

Get your bath going and make it extra luxurious with some soothing music, candles, and perhaps a nice book or beverage in hand. Pop in a Bar Of Hope Bath Bomb and watch it turn your tub into a water-colour masterpiece. And, if you have kids, an extra fun bath time experience includes filling cups with shaving cream that are each coloured with different drops of food colouring. Hand some paint brushes to little splashers and let them paint the bathtub walls. Once they’re finished, give them sponges to wipe it up.

2. Relax with a Home Spa Day

Give yourself a mini spa day with a variety of easy beauty treatments. Whether it's painting your nails or simply slapping on some Nature's Beauty Bee Kiwi Manuka Honey Purifying Clay Mask, it's a good day to beautify and relax.

3. Enjoy a Worldly Indoor Picnic

Take your family for a picnic—while indoors. All you have to do is grab a giant blanket to sprawl out on and a few pillows for comfort. You can choose to channel a Parisian picnic a la Emily in Paris with a wicker basket of breads, cheese and maybe even some champagne. Or soak in the colours of a souk-styled set-up, with bright tapestry and trippy lights, accompanied by a bowl of hummus and fresh pita. Grab a cuppa tea while you’re at it.

4. Have a Movie Marathon

Whether it’s a new movie or an old favorite, movies can be one of the best ways to spend a lazy afternoon in the winter.

5. Workout by a Window

Enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and soak in some Vitamin D without losing feeling in your fingertips. However, remember to be cautious as the sun’s rays can reflect with great power off the snow and even through glass. This means that you can get a sunburn while indoors! So, slather on some sunblock while you break a sweat! You can then use the Skye Candle & Body Care Konjac Facial Sponge to gently buff away the sunblock, sweat, dead skin or debris to maintain bright and fresh skin in winter.
